Seems the anticipated spring release is pushed back to the other half of next year. Best case puts the game half a year out. Worst case we’ll have to wait closer to a year more, if not all the way into 2012… *grumbles*Not seen any official words on the forums yet, so might as well take that news with a pinch of salt for now :)
Well, considering no official release window has been set in stone at all.. I suppose the spring release is to be taken with just as large a pinch of salt is this statement at least. :P Bottom line is the estimate now ranges from Q2 -> Q4 2011, hopefully not falling through to 2012.
Ah rite, I wonder what this is all about – bad criticism or just high ambitions, let us hope it is the latter. :)
Actually.. I remember they first announced the game ”tentative” release as ”Spring 2011” while now it is just ”2011” that would indeed mean a push into later year release.

The blog post mostly concerns Warhammer Online and just mentions TOR briefly. I don’t put any weight into it, don’t see it as any trouble at all.

Good read! I am still very wondering how this will look like for real when released. They did say that mass effect was some kind of experimental platform for this, have you heard any of this?
I do like the sound of those ”extra grindy quests” you can pick up for missions, to shoot XX enemies or something like that. It’s nice that it’s a choice you can make, depending on if you have time and if you’re in the mood for it.

Bountry hunter looks so more fun to play, and seem to have way more gadgets…
What is that Trooper have? =/ Just thought about that last night.
I dunno, personally I like watching troopers compared to bounty hunters. Rather than the flexible combat approach the BH employ the trooper seems to carry heavier weaponry, armor and explosives. The Vanguard trooper is designed to be a tank apparently with the Commando acting as ranged DPS. Still, I’ve found it hard to get more info myself.
The Trooper is more of a soldier, it’s natural that a Bounty Hunter has more gadgets and stuff, they need to be flexible.
A Trooper takes out the big guns and pounds his enemies with them, while having the armor to stay in the fight.

For a smuggler, I’d go Scoundrel. For a Sith, I’d go Juggernaut. But I really want several characters so I hope I can make multiple Sith and others cause I have ideas for everyone. ^^
I wonder how this will differ in a way. Aren’t this pretty much the same as the talent trees World of warcraft uses? Or is it only me?
I think the exception is that you can’t pick skills from all trees as you wish. Go one path and those are the skills you can choose. A class actually has 3 skill trees, 2 specific for each advanced class and 1 that they both share and can pick skills from.
So a Smuggler has the Scoundrel and Gunslinger skill trees with their own specific skills but they also share a common skill tree named Luck, with skills both advanced classes share.
Ah alright. Sounds awesome! Gosh, can’t the game come out now :/
I’m pretty torn between Guardian and Sentinel. On one hand, Guardian would fit my character perfectly, and I’d love to play a tank. On the other hand, I really love the idea of two lightsabers, and I kind of like that Sentinel would be a slightly less obvious choice for a bodyguard type of character.
